JOINING A MEETING
Although the Facilitated Communication Interactive Community uses external software to host virtual meetings, you can still join these meetings from the website.
To join a meeting from the website, please follow the steps below.
Click on 'Meetings' in the menu bar at the top of the Facilitated Communication Interactive Community website.
You will be taken to a new page that lists all the upcoming meetings along with the date that those meetings will be held.
On this page, scroll to the meeting you would like to join and click 'Join' next to the meeting name.
The meeting page will now open and will look like the image below. To join the meeting, scroll down to the 'About the Event' section and click the purple link that says 'Click here to join the meeting'.
A new page will open that looks like the one below.
We recommend that all users download the Cisco Webex desktop app. If you haven't done so already, you can do that by clicking on the 'Download it now' link at the very bottom of the 'Starting Cisco Webex Meetings' page.
The software will now need to be installed on your computer. To do this, double click the software folder that appears at the bottom of the screen under the blue 'Click here to install webex.exe' box.
Once you have installed the app, you will need to open the app to join the meeting. To do this, click 'open the desktop app' in the centre of the screen.
A pop-up will appear checking that you actually want to open the app. Please click 'Open Cisco Webex Meeting' in this pop-up window.
If you haven't already, you might need to create a profile with Webex. This is very easy and the system will prompt you to do this the first time you open the desktop app. If you already have a login, simply click 'Sign In'.
Once you have logged into the system, a window like the one below will pop up. To join the meeting, you simply need to click the green 'Start Meeting' button. If you are not the host, this button might say 'Join Meeting' instead.
That's It! You should now be added to the meeting. For more information on how to use Cisco Webex Meetings, please read our 'Using Webex Meetings' instructions.
